Who We Are

Mohonk Mountain Stage Company was formed in 1994 to perform works of strong literary merit for young and adult audiences. MMSC is pleased to have performed locally in New York's Mid-Hudson Valley as well as regionally for the past ten years.

The Theatre for Young Audiences has performed throughout the East Coast, appearing at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., as well as at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York City.  MMSC's unique Participation Format enables children not only to observe the action, but also to become a part of it. MMSC's TYA Company was chosen as one of a handful of companies to perform at the International Showcase for Young People at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

The Readers Theater Group has given over 400 performances of plays, prose and poetry at venues throughout the Mid-Hudson Valley. In addition to performing plays and readings of works of literary merit, MMSC works collaboratively with the Dramatic Writing Program at SUNY (State University of New York) at New Paltz to make possible the Vanguard Voices Project, a unique workshop format for new and emerging playwrights.

MMSC Publishing produces a monthly newsletter, Prologue, and a semi-annual literary journal, Vanguard Voices of the Hudson Valley.
