MMSC performs in churches, arts centres and university theatres across New Paltz and the surrounding towns. Each venue is different, so if you have a particular need the most reliable thing you can do is tell us in advance — we would much rather plan for you than improvise on the night.
Seating
All seating at MMSC performances is festival style, with no seat numbers. We cannot guarantee a specific seat, but our "Hold A Seat For Me" policy lets us hold a number of seats in your name until fifteen minutes before curtain. If you need to sit near the front, near an aisle, or with space beside you, say so when you call and we will do our best.
Readers theatre and hearing the words
MMSC performs in a readers theatre format: actors work from scripts, and the words are the main event. That has practical advantages for anyone who finds a conventional production hard to follow. If a large-print script or a copy of the text in advance would help you enjoy an evening, ask us and we will arrange it.
Our venues
Because our venues are lent to us by other organisations, step-free access, parking and facilities differ from one to the next. Ring the office before you book and we will tell you exactly what to expect at the venue for the performance you want to see.
If you arrive late
Unclaimed reserved seats are released fifteen minutes before curtain so that people waiting in line can be seated. If you arrive after the performance has begun, an usher will seat you at the first suitable break.
