Come hear the voices of the future!
As a company dedicated to celebrating the written word, Mohonk Mountain Stage Company is pleased to open its Tenth Anniversary Celebration Season with the Third Annual Presentation of MMSC's unique Vanguard Voices Project. In partnership with the Dramatic Writing Program of the State University of New York at New Paltz, MMSC will once again provide an invaluable workshop experience for four emerging young playwrights as their plays are developed in an intensive rehearsal process. Working with experienced actors, directors and a dramaturg to revise their scripts, these young playwrights will have their revised scripts performed before MMSC's audiences in two exciting performances. Each performance will be followed by a TalkBack session with actors, director and audience members lending their voices in constructive comments. Ultimately the scripts will be published by MMSC, affording these young playwrights another unique opportunity: to prepare a script for publication and to see that script finally in published form.
Scripts chosen for inclusion in the Vanguard Voices Project 2004 are:
| Publisher's Block |
by Jamie Gerardi |
| Minor Details |
by Eliza Murray |
| The Letters |
by Michael Bonet |
| Marching Home Again |
by Christopher Dumm |
Don't forget. The first issue of Vanguard Voices of the Hudson Valley: New Plays from the SUNY New Paltz Dramatic Writing Program 2003, containing the printed scripts from last year's VV Project, is now available.
