"Every murderer is probably somebody's old friend."--Agatha Christie
Perhaps that is why audiences continue to be captivated by what Raymond Chandler called "The Simple Art of Murder."
Following up on last season’s popular program which featured the progenitors of the American hardboiled detective story, Raymond Chandler and Dashiell Hammett, during our Spring '05 Season we are presenting Whodunnit?
This evening’s program will feature three stories, each with a slightly different take on the genre.
Wanted - Dead And Alive |
by Stephen Marlowe, which features Chester Drum, an ex-FBI agent turned private gumshoe. |
Read by Gerard Brooks |
Busted Blossoms |
by Stuart Kaminsky, which takes a wry look at the hard boiled style as Toby Peters, a low-rent, World War II-era Los Angeles private eye, tries to solve a closed-room murder involving W. D. Griffith. |
Read by Pat Bottino |
The Fix |
by Thomas H. Cook, which contains all the elements of the Noir style. |
Read by Bruce Pileggi |
All of the colorful language and characters associated with crime fiction await you. Don't miss this one.
